Following eight years as Ballet Mistress to the New Jersey Ballet, she served as Director of the Classical/Contemporary Dance Department at the Orange County High School of the Arts, and was also Ballet Mistress to the State Street Ballet in Santa Barbara. Ms. Monat is currently a member of the full time faculty at the California State University Long Beach Department of Dance, where she teaches, directs and choreographs for the department’s dance concerts. Ms. Monat also guest teaches extensively and has taught company class for ODC/San Francisco, the Lyon Opera Ballet, the Hartford Ballet, and Raiford Rogers Modern Ballet. She has taught, choreographed, and staged a wide range of classical and contemporary ballets for ballet companies, dance festivals, professional schools, and universities throughout the U.S., including Stanford University, Scripps College, Loyola Marymount University, UC Irvine, and Montclair State University, New Jersey. A three time recipient of the finalist award at the McCallum Theatre’s Dance Under The Stars Choreography Festival in Palm Desert, Ms Monat founded her own contemporary dance company Monat Dance, in 2009. Victoria Parsons Dancing, modeling and acting were simple side hobbies for Victoria Parsons growing up in Southern California. She was active in school including basketball, cheerleading and theatre, and later found herself pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at California State University of Long Beach. During her education, she danced for the ABA for over 3 years, assisted in the Radio City Rockette Summer Intensives and performed as a dancer at Anaheim's Disneyland Resort. During her degree she signed with a dance agency and has been working non stop ever since. To date, she has done modeling, promotional, industrial and commercial work for names like Geico, 24 Hour Fitness, Nationwide Insurance, Nike, Skechers, Oakley, Zumba, Nokia, TGIF, Ed Hardy, Diet Pepsi and Wella Hair Products to name a few. She recently filmed music videos for ‘Death Cab for Cutie,’ Chayanne, David Guetta, Taio Cruz, and Ludacris. She has been in the last two seasons of Glee and in an episode of this season’s 90210. Her feature film credits include Iron Man 2, Rush Hour 3, Idlewild, and the Fast and Furious 3 & 4. Her live performances include artists Kelly Rowland, Backstreet Boys, Justin Timberlake, Livvi Franc, Cheyenne Kimball, Latin sensation Chayanne and Def Leopard. Victoria toured with Grammy award winning artist Rihanna for two years through multiple world and U.S. tours, including Kanye West's Glow in the Dark tour. When she is not on tour, Victoria enjoys taking more dance classes, being active on the beach, practicing yoga or learning jiu-jitsu at the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu academy in Torrance, Ca. She was a main component in the filming of a series of Fitness DVD's for UFC’s champion George St. Pierre (GSP) and his trainer Erik Owings. Victoria aspires to be a role model for young women by promoting a positive, active and healthy life. Ferly Prado Ferly Prado was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. She received a lot of her training from the Academia de Música e Ballet Elza Prado (São Paulo, Brazil), the Kirov Academy of Ballet (Washington D.C.), Southern Ballet Theatre (currently Orlando Ballet- in Orlando, FL) and from the Debbie Allen Dance Academy (Los Angeles, CA). Her credits include: Tina Turner's "Tina:Live!" World Tour, Billboard Music Awards 2011 with Beyónce, Chayanne's "No Hay Imposibles" World Tour, Latin Billboard Music Awards 2010 with Chayanne, Mariah Carey in Las Vegas 2009, Charo's "Latin Explosion" Tour, NBC's "Singing Bee" hosted by Joey Fatone, "Dunham in Me" hosted by Alec Baldwin. Holly Quesada Holly Quesada is a multi-talented dancer, teacher and choreographer. She has been dancing for over thirty years. While she was a featured dancer in numerous regional and national competitions, pageants, parades, festivals, musicals and productions, she was gravitated to her true love of choreography and teaching. Mrs. Quesada has been sharing her passion of dance with her students for nearly eighteen years, specializing in jazz, contemporary, tap, ballet, and acrobatics. Her award winning choreography for numerous competitions, productions, dance teams, and musicals have been seen throughout California. After becoming a member of Dance Masters of California, Inc. Chapter #13 in 1995, she went on to serve on the board of directors of this non-profit organization for the last 9 years. She currently serves as Past President and Pageant Director of this 124 year old National Organization. Holly has also been in partnership with many local public Elementary schools in her area bringing the art and passion of all forms of dance to local children for the past seven years. As well as being the mother of three children, Joey, Jillian, and Jenna, she has been married for fifteen years. She strives to continually teach by the philosophy of the legendary Martha Graham, “Great dancers are not great because of their technique; they are great because of their passion” making her classes positive, inspiring and invigorating. Jason Britton Jason Emanuel Britton is a dancer, choreographer and educator who has been a lecturer at UC Berkeley in the Physical Education Program since 1998. Mr. Britton specializes in jazz, modern, and ballet as well as yoga for fitness and stress-reduction. He received a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, and an Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts from San Fransicso State University. In addition, Mr. Britton is the Program Manager for Words On Dance which produces live on-stage interviews and film events with luminaries including Mark Morris, Rita Moreno, Maria Tallchief and many others. Mary Wilson Mary has been dancing since the age of 2, has performed in various musicals through Golden Performing Arts Center, and studied under Patrick Frantz at Rozann Zimmerman Ballet Center. She is a dance teacher and coach at Bishop Alemany High School. She performs and choreographs for La Danserie. Mary Wilson is from Canoga Park, CA and graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a BFA in Dance in 2006. She studied under Keith Johnson, Loren Johnson, Susan McLain, Sophie Monat, and Andy Vaca as well as a guest artist, Diann Sichel. And during college, Mary worked at the “Happiest Place on Earth” where she danced in the “Parade of the Stars” as a swan. In June of 2010, Mary received her Master of Arts in Education and Secondary Teaching Credential in Physical Education from Loyola Marymount University. Stephen Keshi, Jr. Keshi started dancing in the amazing art of Hip Hop when I was 19 and he later explored different styles of dance and was introduced to the wonderful art of ballet. Keshi is a former member of Evolution Movement and currently dances with OCD (Opportunity Core Dance). If asked who his bigggest inspiration is? He'd answer that his students are his biggest inspiration. Dance is life and he can't see himself doing anything else. It takes lot of time, hard work, and of course passion to do this, but it's well worth it. Sharon Sobel Idul Sharon Sobel, a Pittsburg native began her ballet training at age 3 through the City of Pittsburg. She then studied under Helga Ishikata at Delta Ballet Academy from age 7 to 18. Ms. Sobel joined Delta Children's Ballet Theatre in 1992 and performed many principal roles in The Little Match Girl, Enchanted Toy Shoppe, Peter and the Wolf, and Bolero. She holds a degree in Dance from Cal State University, Long Beach. She is the recipient of the 2004 Jason Robins Dance Scholarship. During college Ms. Sobel studied under a wide variety of accomplished dance educators and choreographers, such as Sophie Monat, Alaine Haubert, Keith Johnson, Sharon McKinney, Douglas Neilson, and many other guest instructors. She has performed in historic ballets such as Balanchine’s Serenade, Petipa’s Les Slyphides, among many other original works while attending CSU-Long Beach. Sharon has danced with Peninsula Ballet Theatre. She is the owner of Delta Ballet Academy and made her debut as Artistic Director of Delta Children’s Ballet Theatre with their premiere of Peter Pan in April 2008. Currently, she is the President of the Pittsburg Creative Arts Building Corporation, a non-profit organization dedicate to the restoration of the historic 2,000 seat big theater, and 242 little theater in Pittsburg. In December 2009 she made her debut as Associate Director of the newly formed Black Diamond Ballet Theatre - East County's First Professional Ballet Company with Artistic Director, Michael Lowe. Black Diamond Ballet Theatre and will call the Pittsburg Creative Arts Building their home theater. Sarah Hernandez Sarah has been dancing since she was 4 years of age, beginning with the Delta Childrens' Ballet Theatre where her roles included the Little Matchgirl (The Little Matchgirl), Bird (Peter and the Wolf), Ugly Duckling (The Ugly Duckling), Cinderella (The Fractured Fairy Tales) and Queen (The Enchanted Toyshop). From 2000-2003 and in 2006, she danced for Oakland Ballet under the direction of Ronn Guidi. In OBC's yearly productions of The Nutcracker, she has been cast in the roles of Marie and Louise, as well as a Snowflake, Flower, and in Spanish Chocolate. Other productions by Oakland Ballet in which Sarah has performed include “The Secret Garden”, “Les Biches” and “Hansel and Gretel”. Sarah has also used her talent and love of working with children to teach dance (ballet, jazz, tap and lyrical/contemporary) for 7 years. She has taught at Rivertown Dance Academy and Step-2-This Dance and Performing Arts, and her students have been included on several competition teams. Her choreography credits include Clayton Valley High School's production of "Suessical" (2006); Mountain View's Talent Show production of "Karoke Shrek Style!" (2007); Silverwood Elementary's production of "California Bound: A Fourth Grade Musical" (2008) and Highlands Elementary Talent Show "Rock On Highlands" (2008). Throughout her career, Sarah has competed in and won numerous titles and scholarships in Northern California. Currently, she is dancing for COterie under the direction of Kimberly Valmore and the Black Diamond Ballet Theatre. When not up on her toes, Sarah is a teacher's assistant at Silverwood Elementary School in Concord, CA, as well as a student at Cal State East Bay where she is pursuing her degree in psychology. She cannot wait to see what is in store for her next! Lauren Mindel Lauren trained in ballet, tap, jazz, character, modern, contemporary, and hip-hop in the Bay Area with choreographers Anne Barrett, Lynn Brilhante, Gregg Geoffroy, Michael Lowe, and many more. She attended intensive training programs with American Ballet Theatre and LINES Ballet in 2005 and 2007. She danced with Peninsula Ballet Theatre in 2005 and 2008 and Black Diamond Ballet Theatre in 2010 both under the artistic direction of Michael Lowe. She also trained in ballet, modern, hip-hop, West African, and Thai dance with UCLA's dance program staff. In 2008 she trained with Los Angeles hip-hop and jazz funk choreographer Saleemah E. Knight. Lauren is currently dancing with Menlowe Ballet and teaching classes in ballet, tap, and jazz in the Bay Area. Ricky Navarro Ricky Navarro, I was born in Pittsburg and trained at dance schools all over Contra Costa County, including Delta Ballet Academy. He later attended the California Academy of Performing Arts under the Direction of Joan Robinson, where he studied Ballet, Jazz and Lyrical, and Tap. While at the California Academy of Performing Arts he participated in several competitions and was awarded many high honors and titles from those competitions. In later years he attended San Francisco Ballet School and studied under some of the world’s best ballet master, primarily in classical ballet, with an emphasis on Balanchine’s stylistic technique. Following his many years of training at SF Ballet, he joined the company and danced as a company member for 4 years. As a company member he performed beautiful ballet pieces such as Romeo and Juliet, Balanchine’s Donizeti, and Helgi Tomasson’s Stars and Stripes. Mr. Navarro is currently on faculty at Delta Ballet Academy where he teaches classical ballet, lyrical, and jazz. He has also coached competition dancers of Delta Ballet to award winning honors. He currently dances with Black Diamond Ballet Theatre
